I bumped into your previous article, which reminds me of an article by Leyla Acaroglu (if you don’t know yet about her work, please find out more!). What I really like from your article is the Collective Awareness Design, because that’s what many of us ignore yet I find joy in playing a role here (so here I’m trying to connect you with other people’s work)! I also like your discovery of Third Entity through your experience, which reminds me of my own experience trying to design in public health area (the journey just began, I don’t have anything to share yet apart from how the complexity of the problem makes me a different designer now).
The reason I comment here instead of under your previous article is because of my appreciation of that table! Indeed it looks like segmenting or polarizing and there must be a way to combine both. I learned that as a designer it’s part of my job to find how to balance them. My 6-minute article is too short to illustrate my perspective of looking at this issue. I only touched lightly in the last third, largely inspired by Enzio Manzini’s book “Design, When Everybody Designs”. I see it beyond my growth as a designer, as it’s personal, too.
Thanks for working on this topic and may you be able to connect with many others to complete the picture! I read on Twitter that you’re writing a book. I just recently discovered this book The Art of Co-Creation that compiles so many sources together. May you find more inspirations from there!
