Great to know that there’s a name for that “liking gap”! I wonder whether social psychologists are also looking into the effect of environment on having liking gap. In a toxic environment where people underestimate each other, someone who has a small/no gap may eventually develop it. I’ve been also looking for such a connection with racism in USA, i.e. someone from underrepresented population might have a bigger liking gap when they join an organization where most people are from the race commonly associated with superiority.
